Emily Moore<\/h1>\n

BA Fashion Design<\/h3>\n

Emily Moore is a British fashion designer who specialises in womenswear. Her personal style is recognised through the intricate prints and graphic artwork she designs. During her time at university, she has researched ways to combat the environmental damage caused by the fashion industry through the research of innovative materials and 3D design tools.<\/p>\n

The Age of Opulence\u2019 for For Love & Lemon\u2019s is inspired by the Netflix series Bridgerton. The show is renowned for its extravagant gowns, interiors, and landscapes. I was drawn to the landscapes and interiors to create floral prints in bold colourways using digital and traditional methods of printmaking. I wanted to use luxurious fabrics to replicate the extravagant gowns but instead making them more wearable to modern society, which I chose to do through underwear.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u2018Seventeen going under\u2019 is inspired by photographs of my parents growing up in the North-East of England. I was inspired by their music, fashion and places they hung out in. I also grew up in the North and found the photos mirrored what me and my friends do. With the rise of modern artists embracing these roots such as Sam Fenders \u2018Seventeen going under\u2019 song which the collection was named after, I wanted to create a modern collection which me and my friends would wear inspired by the Northern Heritage<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

My collection for Zimmerman inspired by the Assouline books series \u2018Capri\u2019, featured intricate print work created using traditional and digital media. The book featured bright fruits, pottery landscapes which filled me with inspiration that I unleashed in the print room. I used different media methods from hand painting, screen printing and etching to explore patterns which would drive my collection. I digitally enhanced them into repeat patterns making them appropriate for my bohemian inspired collection.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

My innovation project also took inspiration from my friends. The brief for the Innovation module was to design garments for a group in society in which they could benefit from. Looking to my friends for inspiration, I thought about the issues we face going to gigs, clubbing and bars and how I could design functional garments which could provide safety, function, and comfort. The designs are all built around a purpose and feature adaptable components which can aid women to enjoy their nights.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
