BA Textile Design<\/h3>\n

Situating the development of the collection in embedded craft practises, embracing slow fashion processes became integral to the work. Developing a collection inspired by the emerging key trend \u201cMaximalist Craft\u201d (WGSN, 2023), featuring the emergence of craft practises and embracing maximalism through upcycling deadstock materials. Upcycling materials ribbons, sourcing natural yarns and hand-casting beads as well as incorporating traditional craft practises such as felting lends itself to collaging a collection of pieces evoking a sense of the values embedded within traditional craft practises, whilst linking to contemporary trends, intended to be contextualised as knitwear accessories for A\/W24..<\/p>\n

Developing clay forms for metal casting process. Preliminary work for final metal beads used on knitted pieces developed as clay bead structures inspired by the work of Barbarah Hepworth.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Contextualisation for final collection as knitwear hair accessories. Developing a series of contextualisation illustrations taking the form of papercut dolls, to conceptually illustrate the works as wearable pieces but also to demonstrate and encourage their restyling by suggesting their variations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
