BA Art and Design
This practice centre’s itself around the process of recycling natural material to extract colour, organic forms and patterns. By developing and using only natural dyes for both the fabric and thread, the work observes the ways that natural matter can be repurposed and reintroduced in new forms to symbolise the life cycles of nature.

The fabric pieces explore reoccurring growth patterns and shapes in organisms such as fungi, spores, florals, succulents and even honeycomb through the medium of embroidery. As a whole, the colour, material, and patterns should encourage the viewer to feel a sense of calm in line with the theory of biophilic design, the co-existence of nature in design.

Dyes were made from berries such as blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and raspberries as well as carrot tops, avocados, cabbage, onion skins, tea, and flowers including daffodils.
