My work explores the cultural challenges faced by Chinese students in international universities, where cultural shock often disrupts their sense of belonging. In Chinese culture, food carries deep significance, offering warmth and emotional connection in foreign settings. By cooking traditional dishes, students attempt to restore cultural ties. Presented through experimental video, the work captures sensory memories and emotions, revealing how food mediates identity and belonging.
