BA Graphic and Communication Design

I am a graphic designer with a background in fine art from A-Level, which taught me conceptual thinking and strong visual communication. Moving into graphic design allowed me to combine creativity with problem-solving. A placement year at creative agencies developed my skills in branding, visual systems, and creating purposeful, research-led design solutions.

Resonus is a visual language and support system designed to raise awareness and understanding of tinnitus. Inspired by the form of inner ear hair cells, the identity transforms an invisible condition into something visible through sound-level indicators, cymatic visualisations, and inclusive design systems. Users can identify their tinnitus sound, navigate environments more confidently, and better understand how spaces affect them. Combining custom typography, visual collateral, and wayfinding systems, Resonus promotes a more inclusive world which helps people with tinnitus feel heard and more connected to reality.

This concept transforms lines of data code into a fingerprint graphic, with repeated text reading “Privacy in Print”. The fingerprint represents the personal data often harvested by streaming services, while it being concealed reflects the library’s role in protecting user privacy. A glitch effect was applied to the typography to emphasise the contrast between the analogue nature of libraries and the digital dominance of streaming platforms.

Plastic Presence collaborates with the United Nations Global Compact to redesign plastic products by embedding flat-pack nets of endangered animals into existing manufacturing processes. Once recovered from landfill or shorelines, waste pickers can assemble the discarded plastic into 3D animal sculptures, creating marketable products and new income opportunities. Through policy, education, and accessible assembly guides, the initiative addresses plastic pollution, biodiversity loss, and wider UN Sustainable Development Goals.
