BA Graphic and Communication Design
Sarah Tomlin is a Graphic Communication Design student at the University of Leeds. Her specialisations include illustration, print and campaign design, exploring culture and sustainability through playful hand-drawn and vector graphics. Displayed works include advertising for the pencil, a community food initiative, and a folklore-inspired illustrated book spread.
Success starts with a doodle- where could your ideas take you? A campaign in collaboration with Staedtler to promote the pencil. Stickers for your suitcase form one of the transport-centred touchpoints. The doodle style injects fun into commuters’ daily routine and promotes the pencil as a vehicle for creative potential. Other touchpoints include subway poster installations and sponsored vehicle wraps.
The Root Cause is a volunteer-led community feast with a mission to fight food waste and help locals connect with cooking. The campaign includes large-scale posters and social media posts. This campaign identity is inspired by screen-printed protest posters.
An illustrated spread from the Brothers’ Grimm tale, The Seven Ravens. The hand-drawn illustrations are influenced by Art Nouveau, folklore and eldritch horror works.
