‘Orchidelirium’ looks at the scope of the Orchidaceae family through printmaking and sculpture. Orchids are a commonly collected plant, this piece questions how humans interact with the aesthetics of nature. Visitors are encouraged to take a postcard print with them, spreading orchids and allowing them to take on new meanings.
Each monoprint is unique, building on top of previous prints to add unexpected colours and forms. This adds to the feeling of a collection and explores how the plants interact with their surrounding space. The sculptures come out of the wall and over prints, mimicking how orchids grow in nature.
