BA Graphic and Communication Design

My projects focus on using design as a voice to visualise important but overlooked issues in our society. My placement at The Walt Disney Company taught me how to elevate design with storytelling, allowing my work to transform into design-led narratives that communicate unheard issues. This has helped shape me into a designer with a love for graphic design and a passion for storytelling.

A design-led campaign to raise awareness of the Gender Health Gap in the UK and empower women going through the healthcare system by treating the emotional difficulties that emerge. The tools this project offers prepares women for navigating gender-based bias and creates a community where women can gain support. This will help empower women to self-advocate during appointments – ultimately working to improve women’s healthcare experiences so we can all help #ChangeHerStory.

‘Cooking the World’ is an activist cookbook which raises awareness for global warming by contextualising its effects on the largest aspect of everyday life – food. This project paints a picture of our future if climate change is left unchecked, using apocalyptic graphic language to convey the urgency for change. However, all is not lost as this cookbook doubles as a guide which informs readers of lifestyle changes they can adopt to help prevent these recipes from becoming our reality.

A packaging activation which uses design to give animals a voice and visualise the harm they endure due to our actions. With animals placed at the front of the consumer’s mind, reckless consumer behaviour is challenged as the usual interactions with products are disrupted with the victims of our consumer actions – encouraging thoughtful purchasing and consideration for the impact packaging has on animals.
