BA Fashion Design Innovation

My work specialises in sportswear and streetwear across both menswear and womenswear. I embrace bold, graphic prints and a strong sense of craftsmanship to elevate these areas of design to a new level. My own brand collection, ‘Kansei.’ reflects my focus on material innovation and contemporary, functional design to elevate sportswear and streetwear beyond their traditional boundaries.

‘Echoes of Taruki’ is a Spring/Summer 2027 collection inspired by Japanese temple architecture. This influence is expressed through structured silhouettes, crafted textile techniques and a considered colour palette. Physical garments have been produced, creating two complete menswear outfits, which showcase the redefining of sportswear through introducing a level of detail and craftsmanship that is rarely associated with traditional sportswear.

A key innovation within this project is the integration of crafted textile techniques into sportswear garments, such as appliqué. This process utilised entirely deadstock fabrics, demonstrating how textile innovation can also be sustainable. Bold digital prints are also present within this collection, taking inspiration from the graphic features in streetwear.

This Autumn/Winter 2027 womenswear collection for The North Face is inspired by the flora of West Woods, a forest near where I grew up. The diverse shapes and colours of the variety of rich flora informed the prints and silhouettes. Technical details were included to maintain the high-performance standards of the brand.
