BA Fashion Design

I am a BA Fashion Design graduate specialising in womenswear. Three collections will be presented here, which were designed in my final year. I really like to focus on the shapes and construction of garments, and concentrate on the harmony of outfits. The idea of creating garments that conform to the brand style and have commerciality has been running through my works.

The collection continues Uma Wang’s sleek and flowing silhouette and use of various fabric textures and patterns, and takes female figures and garments in the Tang dynasty as the main inspiration.

The design are infused with the characteristics of female figures and apparel in the Tang dynasty paintings, and patterns from Tang’s fabrics, porcelains and statues, while focusing on the contrast and fusion between different fabrics. The collection overall maintains a modern look.

Wasted material collage artwork is the inspiration of this collection. The various combinations of scrap paper, old metal things and wooden blocks in these works inspire me to look for some metal and plastic trimmings with unique textures, such as buttons, chains. These also inspire me to arrange and combine different fabrics and these found trimmings during the design process. The collage approach in the artwork also brings inspiration in building the construction lines and design details of the garments.

The collection keeps the punk and elegant style of All Saints womenswear. Leather jacket, the icon of All Saints, is also covered, but it has the characteristic of the waste aesthetic in this series and with more creative design details.

The S/S 22 womenswear vacation collection continues the consistent feature of HM’s vacation collection, which is with the simple product range. Outfits are light and feminine.

The designs present the sahara desert nomad’s living environment and the characteristics of their garments and accessories, while infuse a relaxed sense of vacation.

To touch rough fabrics with the textures like sand to feel sand that seems to be flowing through your hands. Various rope and tassel designs enable wearers to feel as if they are in the camel train of nomads.
