I am a womenswear designer with versatile design work across all fashion markets- high street, luxury ready-to-wear, and couture- with a passion for textile techniques, especially embroidery, print, and knit. My final collection centred on quality and craftsmanship, with inclusivity at its core, creating size 16 patterns entirely from scratch to ensure every piece was designed with care and intention.
Thanks! It’s My Mum’s x Conner Ives is an Autumn/Winter 2027 collection for Conner Ives, with the theme being my mum’s wardrobe during the 90s and her shoe designs from when she was a Footwear Designer. This collection is as timeless and elegant as her.
Atonement (2007) x Mango is a Spring/Summer 2027 collection for Mango. The collection is a ‘capsule collection’- all garments are designed to be paired with one another for sustainability. Atonement is one of my favourite films for its beautiful cinematography and costume design and features lots of flower and water imagery that fits Mango’s aesthetic.
An Ode To Jane is my Final Major Project inspired by my grandma, for my own brand, JASMINE REITSMA. This collection is dedicated to Jane and an exploration of the cultures she immersed herself in; Jane was born into the Macneil of Barra clan, worked as one of the first female consulates for Britain to Spain, adopted my dad from Lebanon and is the closest connection I have to my culture. I have always felt confused and distant from my Lebanese heritage, but I have found that by exploring her life through photo albums, and researching and preserving Lebanese history and traditions, I am understanding my background and myself more.
