This project explores how perception of place is shaped through emotional association and lived experience. Reflecting on my three years in Leeds, the work investigates the fragmented quality of recollection through a layered spatial composition, reconstructing an image of the city through memory. In a broader context, it represents the ways in which our sense of place can become disjointed, distorted, and emotionally weighted over time.
As I remember You is a sculptural piece that acts as an emotional map; a reconstruction of place through personal memory and experience. Combining architectural model-making with miniature diorama, it arranges space unconventionally by merging various architectural elements into one single, emotionally constructed image of Leeds. Through its layered composition, the piece reflects the instability of memory and the subjective nature of how we mentally comprehend place.
