This project uses cyanotypes to capture ‘blueprints’ of the student experience as my own time as a student comes to an end, viewing studenthood as a liminal and transitionary period. The project focuses on the quotidian, everyday images that depict ephemeral memories of studenthood that will inevitably be lost over time. The project aims to provide a way of remembering spaces and belongings, while exploring the feelings of closure of these events coming to an end.
The final body of work includes eight stretched cyanotypes over hand-made wooden frames, ranging in size. Five are exposed onto canvas, three on muslin cloth, and the largest two hanging pieces on calico. Together, they act as an entryway to a panoramic viewing of the canvases that display film photographs taken as part of this project.
